西部カナダで最大規模の美術館、バンクーバー美術館は1931年に設立された。もともとは1145 W. Georgia Stにあったが、1983年に今の場所に移された。この建物は1906年に建てられ、以前は裁判所として使われており、またその以前は裁判所はVictory Squareにあった。外広場、レストラン、ＵＢＣダウンタウンキャンパス、市議会事務所、そして新しく建てられた裁判所に地下を通してつながれる。現在CambieとGeorgia通りに2013年オープン予定の新しい建物を計画中であり、その床面積は現在のものの倍になる予定。Empress Hotelもこの建築家の設計。
Vancouver Art Gallery, the largest art gallery in Western Canada, was founded in 1931. The gallery used to be located at 1145 W. Georgia St, and then moved to current location in 1983. The building, which was constructed in 1906, had been used as a law court, and the law court had been at Victory Square before. Outdoor plaza, restaurants, the UBC downtown satellite campus, government offices, and the new law courts at the southern end are connected with the art gallery through an underground passage. They are planning new building, able to have double times bigger floor area, at Cambie and Georgia is supposed to open likely in 2013. Also he designed Empress Hotel.
