ヘイスティングス / Hastings History

1863年　Silver M Hockingが初めてにニューウエストミンスターとバラッド湾の間に家を建てる。
1867年　Capten Stampが材木工場を始める。また”ガッシー”ことJack Deightonが家族と酒樽を持ってきて店を始める。
1866年　BCで二大スパとして有名だったニューブライトンホテル（もう片方はハリソン温泉）が営業を始める。キャッチフレーズは”いい酒といいタバコ（Good stock of liquor and cigars）”であった。
1885年　この時点での女性の人口は１１人。全体でも４０人だった。
１８８７年　CPRが開通する。ヘイスティングスはこの線路沿いで発展していった。
1905年　ニューブライトンホテルが消失する。それに伴い地価も＄60/エーカーまで下がる。
１９０９年　トラムの開通により地価が倍になる。
1910年　最初の展示会がヘイスティングス公園で開かれる。また女性に参政権を与えられた最初の年で、バンクーバーとバラッドの合併投票では1200人中１人の反対で可決された。
１９２２年　日本のように左側通行であったのが朝９時をもって全て右側通行になる。当時は大混乱だった。
1916年　J.S.Woodworthがイーストバンクーバーにてカナダ的社会主義についての会議を開く。
１９４２年　開戦に伴い20.000人の日系カナダ人が強制帰国される。

1863 Silver M Hocking, the first man to make Vanocuver his house between New Westminster and Burrard inlet.

1867 Capten Stamp had began to setting up a lumber mill also "Gassy" Jack Deighton arrived with his wife and barrel of liquor and set up a shop.

1866 New Brighton Hotel -famous for Spa (watering space) one of the BCs 2 most famous resort. The other was Harrison Hot Spring."Good bed and meals at all hours. A good stock of liquor and cigars.

1885 Female population of Hastings was 11. Total number of population was 40.

1887 CPR was opened. And Hastings was exactly by the rail track to Granville.

1905 New Brighton Hotel was burned and the real estate of Hastings area went down $60/acre.

1909 The trum line was accomplished and the price increaseed to double.

1910 The first exhibition was held in vast Hastings Park. Amalagation with Burrard and Vancouver decided by voting which was the first election what gave the rights of voting to women and only one against the amalagation of 1200.

1916 J.S.Woodworth began holding meeting in East Vancouver drawing together early threads of Canadian socialism.

1942 The outbreak of war forced the mass deportation for 20.000 Japanese-Canadian.
