スタンレーパーク / Stanley Park

カナダでも有数の404.9haもの広さを持つ公園。今でもカナダ政府から年間＄1で借りて運営されている。もともと先住民の人たちが暮らしていたが最終的には＄２５で買い取られた。クリミア戦争では公園の高台を見張り台として使ったり、最終的には先住民の人の家を買い取り公園になっている。公園内のトレイルはかなり長く、迷う事もしばしば。しかし見回りの人たちがいるので助けてくれる。昔は動物園があり大変にぎわっていたが動物園の飼育環境の悪化から閉鎖されてしまった。

1800中頃までインディアンの村があった。

1888年　Stanley Parkとしてオープンする。

1898年　動物園オープン。

Stanley Park is famous for the area not only in Canada, but also in North America. Still now, Vancouver city has leased this land from government for $1 per year as well as victory square. Before it became Stanley Park, there were a first nation's village. However thier houses were purchased by the Park Board for $25 each. While Crimean War, Prospects Point, the top of the hill in Stanley Park, was used for guard. The trails in the park are very long and tangled, so sometimes park keeper's help are needed. Zoo used to be in the park and popular for people, though it was closed because of rearing environmental degeneration.

Untill mid 1800s, there was still a Indian village

1887 Stanley Park was opened as the first park in Vancouver and it holds the biggest area as a civically-funded park in Canada(404.9 ha)

1898 Zoo was opened in the park.
